LIF, a 600 member charity formed in 1997, improves welfare and promotes culture for the Irish community in Luton, mainly but not exclusively. Our fully accessible centre, Kathleen Connolly House, provides the base for the majority of our services. The Welfare Service advises 1000 Irish men and women annually. The Tuesday and Wednesday Clubs attract over 150 members each week. We organise the St Patrick's Festival and are home to LIF Emerald Pipe Band. LIF provide a range of educational classes and presentations, engage in a range of key consultations, networks and forums and commissioned a Report on 'The needs of the local Irish community', 2004.
