SIPP provides culturally specific services to Irish people over 55 years living in Southwark and surrounding areas. We provide a 4 day week lunch club and drop-in offering a nutritious subsidised lunch and a wide range of social, therapeutic and cultural activities including; yoga, pottery, aromatherapy stress massage, hairdressing, Irish music/videos, pool, board games, tai chi, Irish newspapers, reminiscence, bingo, day trips, 'surfing the net' classes, tea dances, advice sessions and health promotions. We also provide a handyperson service especially for our more frail clients and for those who have no family living nearby.
We also provide a Community Support Service to our very isolated elderly clients and substance misuse clients in the community. This includes an outreach service, a team of volunteer befrienders and volunteer hospital visitors and an advice worker. The Community Support Team provides support across a wide range of issues including: advocacy, hospital admissions and discharge, debt, housing, welfare benefits, physical, mental and learning disabilities and community care packages.
