The aim of Rehab Irish Elders Centre (Teach na hEireann) is to enhance the social and economic independence of people with disabilities and other special needs. It endeavours to meet the needs of vulnerable and socially isolated elderly people via its preventative community-based service. The Centre provides ethnically sensitive social care for Irish people in the City of Coventry. The Day Care & Social Inclusion Centre is very active, providing health care, advocacy and information on benefit entitlement, pensions and housing, and includes social and educational activities such as swimming, computer classes, keep fit and Tai Chi, musical afternoons, bingo, board games, reminiscence box, day trips/outings and a walking group.
