The Oxford Irish Society is run by a volunteer committee, who aim to keep alive the music, sport, social and other cultural activities for the Irish community in Oxford and surrounding area.

The committee meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the Gladiators Club, Iffley Road, Oxford. New members always welcome.

Regular events include a St Patrick's Day dance and an annual Dinner and Dance in November. There are also occasional dances and other activities.

There is an active over 50's club, the recently renamed Cara Group, who meet on the first Friday of each month in the Headington Conservative Club, Windmill Road. They also meet for lunch or coffee every third Monday in Weatherspoons, Cowley, and have two special lunches each year. All welcome.

Memberships are due each January and cost £3 single, £5 couple pa.

Sunday 21st March 7.30pm - AGM - Annual General Meeting
Gladiators Club, Iffley Road, Oxford.

  • This is the time for all members to pull together and offer support to those who have been involved in the successful running of the Society over the past fifteen years.
  • At the AGM the existing committee stands down and elections for all positions take place after nominations by Society members.
  • Any small amount of involvement is gladly welcome.
  • Even if you do not wish to join the committee, the AGM is the ideal time to express your opinions about the Society and to show your support.
