Background
The Birmingham Irish Community Forum Ltd (BICF) is the umbrella organisation for Irish voluntary organisations within Birmingham, comprising over 60 affiliates. We provide support to our affiliates with administrative duties, creating networking opportunities and providing representation at key meetings/events. We also work with our affiliates to promote Irish culture and heritage through delivery of funded projects, for example working with the Birmingham St Patrick's Festival, developing community arts projects with local schools, development of heritage projects and coordinating music and dance events throughout Birmingham. We are also a key stakeholder within the Irish Quarter regeneration project and work closely with Birmingham City Council and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of an authentic reflection of Irish Culture within Digbeth.
Expressions of Interest
We are now inviting suitable organisations and individuals to submit tenders to design a Cultural/Community website. The website's primary purpose is to provide a 'virtual forum': a single point of access for information about the Birmingham Irish community, including: upcoming events, including dance, music, Gaelic games, literary events; resources and links for community organisations to seek funding and other support; a starting point for organisations or individuals outside or within the Birmingham Irish community to find local Irish musicians, artists, venues, dancing schools and more; information about welfare resources, for example, drop-in centres, employment support and links to information other econo-social issues. We are looking to produce a vibrant, accessible and innovative website, which will be promoted across the UK and Ireland.
The closing date for submission of tender application is 5 p.m. on 11th June 2010.
In order for you to be invited to tender you must have registered your interest with me by post or email before 5pm on the 4th June 2010. I will then send you the full briefing document and supporting information.
