St Michaels Irish Centre Celebrates

European Capital of Culture 2008

Saturday 16^th February 4pm

and welcomes performers from the Leeds Irish Arts Foundation

The programme will include instrumental workshops on Fiddle/Button Accordion (Des Hurley) Piano Accordion/ Accompaniment in Traditional Irish Music (Chris O'Malley) and Flute/ Tin Whistle (Deirdre Havlin). The second part of the workshop programme will focus on rhythm, phrasing, ornamentation and other musical dynamics within Irish Music rand also focusing group ensemble performance.

The final section of the event will feature an informal concert performance by the tutors and Teresa O'Driscoll with her emerging Irish female vocal ensemble Anima.
