Garage: Lenny Abrahamson's new film released on the 7th March 2008.

Soda Pictures is proud to be releasing Lenny Abrahamson's new film Garage

Garage is a landmark in Irish cinema. A beautifully portrayed cinematic drama interspersed with razor sharp shards of black humour and acutely observed characters that leave a lasting impression.

The story follows Josie (Pat Shortt) who has spent 20 years as the caretaker of a crumbling petrol station in small-town Ireland. Despite loneliness and the fact that his neighbours treat him as a figure of fun, he's always good natured and happy.

Garage is the story of Josie's hapless search for intimacy over the course of a summer which sees his little niche threatened and his life changed forever.

The film was a huge success in Ireland thanks to the phenomenally talented and much loved comic, Pat Shortt, the writer, producer and star of Killinaskully, the hugely successful Irish TV show.

From the 7th March the film will be showing
at the following cinemas:

  • Renoir (London)
  • Curzon Soho (London)
  • Sheffield Showroom
  • Bristol Watershed
  • Queens Film Theatre Belfast
  • Glasgow Film Theatre
and, towards the end of March and beginning of April, the film will be released in:
  • Nottingham Broadway
  • Watermans in Brentford
  • Leicester Phoenix
  • Bradford Pictureville
  • Clapham Picturehouse
  • Tyneside
  • Chapter in Cardiff
