Governance Training!

The Federation has been awarded funding from the Governance Hub to run 4 training days for Management Committee members and Trustees in the following locations;

26th January 2008 - Manchester
9th February 2008 - Milton Keynes
16th February 2008 - London
23rd February 2008 - Birmingham
All of these dates are Saturdays. Venue's to be announced.

There are 16 places on each course which will be allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis and be limited to 2 per organisation. Whilst Committee/Board members of affiliated groups will be given priority, the training will also be open to individuals who may be interested in sitting on Committees/Boards within the Irish sector.
It is becoming increasingly vital within the voluntary sector that Trustees are able to evidence that they have participated in some level of governance training and have a good understanding of the National Standards. Current evidence suggests that Funding bodies are unlikely to award grants or contracts to organisations that are unwilling to strengthen their Committees/Boards through training and recruitment.
The training will be free of charge, lunch & refreshments provided and the Federation is able to offer limited assistance with travel costs.
Register directly to Kelly Fahy on 020 7833 1226.
Don't forget, book early!
