

The Federation of Irish Societies (FIS) is the only national representative organisation for Irish community and cultural organisations in Britain. With more than 150 member organisations across Britain, we represent a diverse range of services, clubs and societies which provide health and social care services to the most vulnerable in our community and promote traditional or contemporary Irish culture and sports.
This is a key post within FIS. The Community and Health Development Worker will be responsible for supporting the development of our member organisations with an emphasis on the health agenda.
The position will build members capacity to meet the needs of their local Irish communities and engage with local statutory health providers to improve services. It will also play a large part in representing the health agenda of the Irish community at governmental and statutory level.
We are looking for someone with the skills to:
· support the development of community health services
· create or share new ideas or practice
· help voluntary sector providers understand and use policy opportunities
· advocate on health issues
